|
|
I've been worried about sanitizing and did a bit of researching. I want my environment to be as free of the CDiff as possible. After some research I found information that I thought was useful. I apologize in advance if this information has already been posted.
EPAs take on killing CDiff spores as of 9/08
http://www.epa.gov/oppad001/clostridium_diff.htm
***What I took away from my research is there are two forms of CDiff crud - vegetative form and spores. The EPA was re-evaluating any products that stated they could kill only the vegetative form, because that's not the real culprit. They are cracking down and looks like they only want to approve products that kill both types of the crud.
Clorox has a new product that indicates it's the first EPA registered disenfectant against CDiff SPORES
http://www.cloroxprofessional.com/cdiff/
***Some articles showed that this product was approved in 5/09, couldn't put my fingers on the exact EPA info. |

That's good to know. Yesterday at church it was very obvious to me that someone who had used the facilities that morning had cdiff, the aroma was unmistakable. However, I did not see who it was, and he might not even be aware of what he has specifically. If so I desperately want to help him, but in the meantime I'll try to pick up some of this and give it to the person that cleans, as well as specific precautions. Wow, this is an ugly and insidious disease.

Yup, I have been using it for quite some time and it seems to do fine. It is not too expensive if you find somewhere like Staples to get it. Here is the link to how I get it. Long story short if you have it shipped to the store and pick it up from there it is no charge for shipping and only 3 something a gallon. They got it there next business day too.
